Our first honorary member of the SGIP-SSPI
Dear colleagues
We are very pleased to welcome and introduce our first honorary member of the SGIP-SSPI.
Dr Georges Klein has been committed to interventional psychiatry throughout his career. He has always used ECT in his 27 years of practice. He has always practised ECT treatment at the Malévoz Monthey Psychiatric Clinic, first as a senior physician and then as head physician since 2008. This was until he handed it over to his successor Dr Sacha Celik in 2019.
During the founding period of the SGIP-SSPI, Mr Klein laid the foundations for our specialist society in the expert group set up by the Swiss Society of Interventional Psychiatry and also helped to ensure that we can now offer the certificate of competence in the way we have been able to do since 2019 as part of the skills programme.
As Dr Klein will now be devoting himself entirely to (forensic) assessment, he is unfortunately leaving the field of interventional psychiatry. However, we can now welcome Mr Klein as a new honorary member of the SGIP-SSPI after he has left his active position.
