Further Training

With the certificate of proficiency in Interventional Psychiatry, physicians with specialization in psychiatry and psychotherapy can document that they have acquired in-depth knowledge of the interventional methods of psychiatry through targeted further education.
The details of the theoretical and practical training requirements and the transitional provisions can be found in the Skills Program on the SIWF website.
The theoretical training includes the curriculum organized by the SGIP-SSPI and recognized theoretical further education after free choice. Practical training must take place at a training centre recognised by SGIP.

The fee for issuing the Certificate of Competency according to the Transitional Provisions is CHF 750 for non-members and CHF 500 for SGIP-SSPI members.
The fee for the initial issue of the certificate of eligibility is CHF 1'000 for non-members and CHF 750 for SGIP-SSPI members.

In 2024, the time has come and the first recertifications of the certificates of proficency are due.
According to the SIWF regulations under point 7, the following conditions must be met:
-At least 50 credits of theoretical, subject-related continuing education must be demonstrated.
-Publications in the subject area can be recognised for theoretical, subject-related further training with a maximum of 16 credits (analogous to 3.2.1.3)
-Proof of at least 30 indications and 300 treatments on at least 20 different patients (ECT or TMS) practical training.
We ask you to send the performance requirements to the SGIP-SSPI secretariat informally, but clearly and comprehensibly, for the attention of the Continuing Education and Training Committee.
The fee for recertification is CHF 1'000 for non-members and CHF 750 for SGIP-SSPI members.

The theoretical basics of brain anatomy and physiology, ECT and TMS as well as other interventional methods relating to basics, techniques and indications, including application, are taught over 10 afternoons of 4 hours each. In 2024 and 2025, 5 course afternoons are planned.
Registration for the curriculum
CHF 400 will be charged per afternoon with 4 credits. There are no price differences for members and non-members.
Please register in writing before attending the curriculum for the first time so that we receive your contact details. You can register and pay for only 1 or directly for several / all modules. It is also possible to participate in the cures without pre-registration. As long as we have your data, we will invite you further in the current curriculum. The invoice will then be sent with the confirmation of participation after each course.
The credits offered as part of the curriculum are recognised as credits by the SGPP for core training.
